Ecocetera is proud to announce that it is one of the founder members of ‘BASIC’ – the Bristol Area Solar Installers Co-operative.
The cooperative – the UK’s first multi-installer company – was formed by nine specialist solar installers based in the Bristol area with the aim of bidding for large-scale solar projects and multiple installations within the local region. This means local jobs are retained, and local suppliers are used wherever possible.
BASIC has now completed a pilot project of thirteen solar PV arrays in the Lockleaze area of Bristol, for local energy Co-operative, Bristol Power CIC. The Lockleaze “Streets of Solar” scheme aims to install over 750 kilowatts of solar PV on homes, schools and community buildings in the coming months.
These first installations confirm yet another innovative way of working on solar in the Bristol area, and enhance Bristol’s growing reputation as the UK’s Solar City and Green Capital.
